FOSSology and Linux Foundation Hosting

A couple of weeks ago we had a couple new groups move into the OSUOSL. The first was FOSSology and FOSSbazaar.

Currently we're hosting the repo for FOSSology, and will soon be hosting the fossology.org web server as well. FOSSology is a very cool project which lets you, amongst other things, parse through all of the source files for a given project/tarball/rpm/linux distribution and see what various licenses are being used. The FOSSology repository consists of a blade center and a LOT of disks -- check out the pictures below. FOSSbazaar is the sister site of FOSSology and aims to provide "a community for free and open source software governance". It provides a lot of information on Open Source for those that may be interested in using Open Source but don't know where to start. A lot of IP, License, Security, and other information is also included on the site.

The second group to move in was the Linux Foundation. The Linux Foundation works hard at promoting, protecting, and standardizing Linux. They have a large number of groups and web sites, so I won't list them all here, but you can check out some of the things we're hosting listed at http://osuosl.org/linux_foundation_hosting

These are very exciting partners to have at the OSL, and it was a pleasure working with all parties involved in getting their equipment moved in. The FOSSology equipment got shipped here from Colorado, and the LF equipment was driven down from Portland. Below are some pictures of the move and the equipment.
